With the result of the matches played today at the Santa Maria Polo Club, the teams of Santa Quiteria and Fray Guen Dusseldorf have qualified to play this Saturday the subsidiary final of the 1892 Isolas Gold Cup with 4-6 goals. This will be the first of the finals with which the 49th edition of the MANSION International Polo Tournament will end. While Fray Guen Dusseldorf secured his place on points last Monday, the Santa Quiteria team did the same this Wednesday after beating Biarritz-Arte del Vino in the second match of the afternoon.
The first game was between Aguilas and Isolas, with the former winning 6 to 1. The Aguilas, who played with Ricardo Blanco, Mauro Bianconi, Ezequiel Zubiaurre and Jorge Pepa, kept the advantage at all times against Isolas. They included Alicia and Daniel Gariador, Estanislao Grahn and Lawrence Isola. Both teams will meet again this Saturday as finalists of the 1892 Isolas Gold Cup.
After that it was the turn of Santa Quiteria and Biarritz-Arte del Vino, in the fight for a place in the subsidiary final. The match started with a clear advantage in the scoreboard for the Santa Quiteria team, who played with José María, Gonzalo and José Entrecanales and Juan Torroba. But in the fourth and fifth half, the team from Biarritz-Arte del Vino, which started with Amy Huson, Laurent Desmas, Patricio Neves and Santiago Torreguitar, managed to reduce the distance. This was not enough and finally Santa Quiteria won by 9 goals to 7, and took that place in the subsidiary final.
