We already know the names of the final candidates for the 1892 Isolas Silver Cup handicap 12-14. Sainte Mesme got today a place for the final of this trophy, the second most important of the 49th MANSION International Polo Tournament. The team composed of Birger and Robert Strom, Clemente Zavaleta and Salvador Jauretche won 11-5 to the Schatzies in the match played this afternoon at the Santa Maria Polo Club in Sotogrande, and will face next Friday August 14 to Mansion-LaLigaSports in the final of this category.
The meeting, held on the court III of Los Pinos, began with a draw in the first chukker or playing time, but from the second Sainte Mesme took advantage on the scoreboard. The Schatzies played with Jella Herzer, Gerardo Mazzini, Tomás F. Llorente and Nicolás Álvarez.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, is a day of rest in the competition, which will return on Thursday with a double sporting event of the Silver Cup handicap 4-6. Santa Quiteria and Biarritz Arte del Vino will face each other on court I at 5.30pm, while Fray Guen Indi and Isolas will do the same at 7pm on court II. On the following day we will experience the long-awaited final of this 12-14 goal handicap trophy.
The activity does not stop at the Santa Maria Polo Club after the games, as the venue has many proposals for a pleasant afternoon and evening. One of the options is to have a drink or dinner in the Gastro Garden listening to a live musical performance. Today it was the turn of La Banda de Eleanor Rigby with their tribute to the Beatles, and for this Thursday a concert by the duo The Bic Boys in acoustic is announced.
But the public can also go shopping at the stores in the Shopping Village, with fashion and accessories brands, or at the Kid’s Area children’s attractions.
Tickets to watch the games are sold at the club’s box office or on the website www.tip.santamariapoloclub.com. They are free for those under 15 and over 65. There are also season tickets and discounts. Parking is free of charge.
