The teams of Sainte Mesme and BN Polo Team scored 14 goals in the Playtech Gold Cup, after winning their respective matches held this Thursday at the Santa Maria Polo Club. The competition continues in the most important trophy of the 49th International MANSION Polo Tournament, which is being held in Sotogrande until August 30th. Tomorrow Friday will be a day of rest, resuming the activity on Saturday with two meetings of the Isolas 1892 Gold Cup handicap 6 goals and the acoustic concert of Wonder Wall.
This Thursday afternoon began with the match between the French group of Sainte Mesme and The Schaetzies. The former, who played with Birger Strom, Robert Strom, Clemente Zavaleta and Estanislao Grahn who replaced Salvador Jauretche, took the lead from the start of the match. But the Schaetzies, who had among their ranks Jella Herzer, Gerardo Mazzini, Tomás F. Llorente and Nicolás Álvarez, managed to cut the difference in mid-match. In front of it the French set pressed the step to finish winning for 12 goals to 8. This way Sainte Mesme continues leader in the classification.
The BN Polo Team debuted with victory in the second match of the afternoon after beating Kazak’s team by 10 goals to 9. The winners, who included Babar Naseem, Segundo F. Llorente, Pelayo Berazadi and Ezequiel Zubiaurre, who replaced Silvestre Garros, dominated the game until the end of the fourth chukker. But in the fifth half Kazak’s team, with Sebastien Aguettant, Patrick P. Paillol, Matthieu Delfosse and Clement Delfosse, got the draw. Finally, in the sixth and last chukker, the BN Polo Team won.
Saturday of Gold Cup and acoustic concert
The competition rests this Friday and returns on Saturday afternoon with a double day at the 1892 Isolas Gold Cup with 6-goal handicap. First, the teams of Santa Quiteria and Isolas will be measured, from 17:00 on the court I of Los Pinos. And then it will be the turn of the current leaders of the classification: Fray Guen Dusseldorf will face Águilas, in court IV at 18:30.
Afterwards, the Wonder Wall team will give an acoustic concert at sunset in the gardens of the Shopping Village. In addition, the public will be able to enjoy an informal dinner in the Gastro Garden, and the children will have fun with the attractions of the Kids Area.
