The competition continues in the 49th International MANSION Polo Tournament with the victory of Mansion-LaLigaSports against Schatzies, on the second day of the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup handicap 12-14. The gardens and courts of the Santa Maria Polo Club Sotogrande have hosted this meeting that brings the activity to the weekend, with a new sports day scheduled for this Friday from seven o’clock in the afternoon.
The current winner of the Hyundai Bronze Cup, Mansion-LaLigaSports, a team composed of Pedro Beca, Patricio Neves, Nicolas Ruiz Guiñazu and Pelayo Berazadi was ahead from the beginning of the game on the scoreboard. Against this the quartet of Schatzies, formed by Jella Herzer, Gerardo Mazzini, Tomás F. Llorente and Nicolás Álvarez, fought hard throughout the game to reduce the distance. But in the end, Mansion-LaLigaSports managed to win by 15 to 8.
Without a break, the Mansion-LaLigaSports team will face this Saturday the Sainte Mesme team, winners of the first round of the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup with a handicap of 12-14. It will be on court IV of Los Pinos from 19:00.
The weekend is approaching
The Santa Maria Polo Club prepares for the weekend with lots of sport, leisure, live music and plans for all ages. On Friday it will be the turn of the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup 4-6 handicap, which returns with a match that will face the current leaders of the classification. From 19:00 the teams of Aguilas and Fray Guen Indi, currently undefeated, will face each other on court II of Los Pinos.
Also, during and after the game the public will have at their disposal the shopping area of the Shopping Village, with fashion brands and accessories for everyone. Also between courts three and four a restaurant area has been installed with terraces to have a snack while enjoying the game. Also between courts two and three there are several foodtrucks and food stands available for an informal dinner. For this very special summer, the Santa María Polo Club has reinforced the safety and hygiene measures in its large gardens and open spaces, to guarantee a safe environment. In accordance with the regulations, the use of a mask is compulsory throughout the premises.
