The Mansion-LaLigaSports team remains the leader in the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup 12-14 handicap ranking after beating Sainte Mesme in the 49th MANSION International Polo Tournament match held this Saturday. This tournament, organized every summer by the Santa Maria Polo Club, hosted the same afternoon the 4-6 handicap match between Isolas and Santa Quiteria. After the Sunday break, the activity will return on Monday with a double day of the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup handicap 4-6.
In the first match of the afternoon the set of Mansion-LaLigaSports, formed by Pedro Beca, Patricio Neves, Nicolas Ruiz Guiñazu and Pelayo Berazadi, managed to beat Sainte Mesme, who played with Clemente Zavaleta, Salvador Jauretche and Birger and Robert Strom, by 11 goals to 8. The match started with an advantage for the French team of Sainte Mesme, but in the second half the Mansion-LaLigaSports team managed to turn the match around and already keep the advantage until the end.
On the other hand, in the 4-6 Silver Cup handicap match played this afternoon, Isolas’ team beat Santa Quiteria’s team by 6 to 5. Even though Isolas started dominating the match, with Alicia and Daniel Gariador, Estanislao Grahn and Lawrence Isola, Santa Quiteria’s team didn’t stop tightening until both teams were tied at the last minute. Finally it was Isolas who won the match 6 to 5.
The International Tournament returns on Monday
After Sunday’s break, the competition returns this Monday 10th with two matches of the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup handicap 4-6. The activity will begin soon at the Santa Maria Polo Club with the meeting between Biarrtiz-Arte del Vino and Isolas, at 17:30 on the Court I of Los Pinos. And then it will be the turn of Santa Quiteria, which will be measured against Aguilas from 19:00 on the court IV of Los Pinos.
And at the end of the games the activity continues. Next to the playing fields has been scheduled a whole range of leisure activities parallel to the shopping area of the Village, the Gastro Garden for an informal dinner at sunset, the Kids Area for children and the terraces for a drink during the game.
For this very special summer, the Santa Maria Polo Club has reinforced the safety and hygiene measures in its large gardens and outdoor spaces, to guarantee a safe environment. In accordance with the regulations, the use of a mask is compulsory throughout the venue.
