Isolas won the Bronze Cup Isolas 1892 handicap 4-6, after beating 9-6 to Santa Quiteria in the final held on Friday at the Santa Maria Polo Club in Sotogrande. The team composed of Alicia and Daniel Gariador, Estanislao Grahn and Lawrence Isola, gets the first trophy that is decided in what this year 49th International Tournament MANSION Polo. Thus, began the first weekend of intense competition of this sporting event, one of the most important in the world of polo.
The match, held at Los Pinos Court III, was exciting from start to finish. Both teams gave everything to win the title. Isolas and Santa Quiteria, a team made up of Gerardo, Gonzalo and Jose Entrecanales, and Jaime Serra alternated on the scoreboard throughout the match, but in the fifth and final chukker or period of play Isolas took off definitively until they won.
After the match, the award ceremony took place. Joey Isolas, representing the sponsor of this trophy, oversaw giving the Bronze Cup to the winner, Isolas. The Councillor for Tourism of the San Roque Town Hall, Ana Ruiz, presented the prizes to the finalist, Santa Quiteria, while the President of the Santa María Polo Club, Antonio Ortiz, did the same with the winner of the subsidiary final, Fray Guen Indi.
After today, the rest of the weekend is equally interesting. Tomorrow, Saturday, the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup begins with a 4-6 handicap, with the match Eagles-Biarritz Art of Wine, at 7pm on court IV. And on Sunday we will be able to witness another great final, in this case the Hyundai Bronze Cup with a 12-14 handicap, which will face Los Schatzies and Mansion-LaLigaSports, at 7pm on court III in Los Pinos.
The Santa Maria Polo Club is already waiting for the bulk of the visitors who arrive with the month of August. The most intense days of the MANSION International Polo Tournament are approaching. The public will be able to enjoy the competition, but also the fashion and accessories shops in the Shopping Village, the children’s attractions in the Kid’s Area, or have a snack in the Gastro Garden, where at sunset there is a musical performance.
