We already know all the details of the great final of the Gold Cup after the qualification was completed this Thursday, with the matches played at the Santa Maria Polo Club, in Sotogrande. Finally, the teams of Los Schatzies, Kazak and Mansion-LaLigaSports will play the subsidiary final of the 14-goal Playtech Gold Cup, in a series of three games in which the teams will have to complete 6 chukkers, or playing times. All of this before Sainte Mesme and BN Polo Team face each other for the main trophy. Tomorrow, Friday, the competition will rest, to come back with strength for the weekend. On Saturday the first of the finals will be played: Isolas and Aguilas will face each other for the Isolas 1892 Gold Cup of 6 goals.
The last day of classification of the Playtech Gold Cup started this Thursday afternoon with the clash between Sainte Mesme and BN Polo Team. The French team, which played with its skipper Birger Strom along with Robert Strom, Clemente Zavaleta and Salvador Jauretche, was on top of the game. Despite the fact that the BN Polo Team, formed by Babar Nassem, Segundo F. Llorente, Pelayo Berazadi and Ezequiel Zubiaurre, tightened their pace in the fifth and sixth chukker, the match ended with victory for Sainte Mesme by a tight 9 to 8. This match was a preview for Sunday’s grand final, in which both teams will meet again to fight for the Gold Cup as finalists.
And then it was the turn of Kazak and Mansion-LaLigaSports, two of the teams that will play the subsidiary final. Kazak, who took the field with Sebastian Aguettant, Patrick P. Paillol, and Matthieu and Clement Delfosse, dominated the game in the early chukkers. For their part, the Mansion-LaLigaSports team, made up of Pedro Beca, Patricio Neves, Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazu and Miguel Amieva, managed to reduce the distance on the scoreboard at the end of a tight fifth chukker, but Kazak’s team managed to win by 10 goals to 8.
