We already know the names of the teams that will play the grand final of the 49th International MANSION Polo Tournament, which is being held for a month at the Santa Maria Polo Club in Sotogrande. The results recorded today cleared up the question. The victory of BN Polo Team in extra time puts him as one of the final candidates for the Playtech Gold Cup handicap 12-14 goals, which we will see next Sunday. His rival will be Sainte Mesme, who also secured a place on points. In the other match on Tuesday the Schatzies also scored their second victory.
The first match of the afternoon was between Mansion-LaLigaSports and BN Polo Team, which ended with a tight 9-10 score. It was an exciting and tight match until the final whistle. The sixth chukker or period of play was reached with a draw at 9, and an additional one had to be played to decide the winner. The team of Babar Nassem, Segundo F. Llorente, Pelayo Berazadi and Ezequiel Zubiaurre achieved their place for the final, in which Sainte Mesme also enters by points, since although there are still several clashes pending, no other team can reach them. Mansion-LaLigaSports played with Pedro Beca, Patricio Neves, Nicolás Ruiz Guiñazu and Miguel Amieva.
The other match of the day had Kazak and the Schatzies as rivals. They won the second match by 8-10. The team composed by Jella Herzer, Gerardo Mazzini, Tomás F. Llorente and Nicolás Álvarez kept the advantage during all the chukkers. Kazak took the field with Sebastian Aguettant, Patrick P. Paillol, and Matthieu and Clement Delfosse. This victory leaves the Schatzies with 4 points in the provisional table, but they have no more games to try to reach the 6 points that Sainte Mesme and BN Polo Team have added respectively, and they still have one more game to play next Thursday.
For tomorrow Wednesday the last two matches of the 1892 Isolas Gold Cup 4-6 goals handicap are announced. At 17:00 Isolas and Águilas will play on court I of Los Pinos. And at 6.30pm, Santa Quiteria and Biarritz-Arte del Vino will play on court II.
