The Santa Maria Polo Club has hosted a new day of the 1892 Isolas Gold Cup handicap 4-6 goals, with victories of the teams Eagles and Isolas. Thus advances the competition in the last trophy in dispute of the 49th International Tournament MANSION Polo, which every summer is organized in Sotogrande and held until August 30. For this Thursday and before the weekend will be played two games of the Playtech Gold Cup at the level of 14 goals, and there will be live music in the gardens of the Club.
The first match of the afternoon started with a victory for the Águilas team. Ricardo Blanco, Mauro Bianconi, Ezequiel Zubiaurre and Jorge Pepa’s team dominated the match from the beginning, with a comfortable lead on the scoreboard against the Biarritz-Arte del Vino team. The latter, who played with Amy Huson, Laurent Desmas, Patricio Neves and Santiago Torreguitar managed to reduce the advantage in the last two halves of the game or chukkers, but finally the Eagles won the score by 7 goals to 4.
The second match of the afternoon started with an advantage for Fray Guen Dusseldorf’s team during the first two chukkers, with Dirk Baumgartner, César Miño, Segundo F. Llorente and Kaveh Atrak among their ranks. But Isolas’ team, with Alicia Gariador, Daniel Gariador, Estanislao Grahn and Lawrence Isola, managed to advance in the score and reduce the difference until reaching a draw that would last until the fifth and last half. Finally, the match was resolved in the extra chukker with a goal by Isolas that beat Fray Guen Dusseldorf by 9 to 8.
New day of the 14-goal Playtech Gold Cup on Thursday
Tomorrow, Thursday, the spotlight returns to the 14-goal Playtech Gold Cup, the most important trophy of the 49th International Polo Tournament. It will be the debut of the BN Polo Team that will face Kazak from 18:30 on the field III. And before that, the teams of Los Schaetzies and Sainte Mesme, who are currently leading the classification, will meet from 17:00 on court II.
The activity does not stop at the Santa Maria Polo Club at the end of the games, as the site has many proposals to spend a pleasant evening. One of the options is to have a drink or dinner in the Gastro Garden listening to a live musical performance. A concert by the duo The Bic Boys in acoustic is announced for this Thursday.
But the public can also go shopping at the stores in the Shopping Village, with fashion and accessories brands, or at the children’s attractions in the Kid’s Area.
