The teams of Isolas and Aguilas are currently leading the classification in the 1892 Isolas Gold Cup of the 49th MANSION International Polo Tournament, after winning their respective matches this Saturday afternoon. This competition is held at the Santa María Polo Club, which organizes and hosts the event, until August 30th. After the matches, the public enjoyed an acoustic concert as part of the leisure activities on offer in parallel with the competition. Tomorrow, Sunday, there is a double day scheduled for the 14-goal Playtech Gold Cup, the Tournament’s top trophy.
The afternoon started at the Santa María Polo Club with the match between Isolas, who had among his ranks Alicia Gariador, Daniel Gariador, Estanislao Grahn and Lawrence Isola, and the Santa Quiteria team. The former took advantage from the beginning of the match, with a goal difference that the team of Santa Quiteria, integrated by Ricardo Blanco, Mauro Bianconi, Exequiel Zubiaurre and Jorge Pepa, managed to cut back on the fourth and fifth chukker, or playing time. But despite this, Isolas would end up winning by 9 goals to 7.
Then, it was the turn of the match between Águilas and Fray Guen Dusseldorf, a match that ended with a victory for the first by 8 to 5. The Águilas, who had among their ranks Ricardo Blanco, Mauro Bianconi, Ezequiel Zubiaurre and Jorge Pepa, distanced themselves on the scoreboard of Fray Guen Dusseldorf’s quartet from the second half. This advantage they were able to maintain until the end.
On Sunday, the Playtech Gold Cup returns with two matches
Tomorrow Sunday the competition returns to the Playtech Gold Cup handicap 14 goals with two games scheduled. Firstly, the teams of BN Polo Team and Los Chaetzies will play against each other, from 17:00 at court II of Los Pinos. And then it will be the turn of Mansion-LaLigaSports, which will face Sainte Mesme, current leader of the classification, in court III at 18:30.
Afterwards, Eleanor Rigby’s band will take over, offering a tribute concert to the Beatles from 19:30 in the gardens of the Shopping Village. In addition, the public will be able to enjoy an informal dinner at the Gastro Garden, and the children will have fun with the attractions of the Kids Area.
